Member Growth Reporting

Understanding the Growth Dashboard

This dashboard gives you a snapshot of your membership trends at a glance. This summary view highlights key metrics, including:

  • Active Members – your total number of current active members.

  • New Members – a visual month-by-month bar graph showing new sign-ups.
  • Visitors – the number of prospective members or trial participants recorded.
  • Frozen – members who have placed their accounts on hold.
  • Canceled – memberships that were ended.
  • Avg. Monthly Growth % – the average percentage increase in your active member count each month over the selected time period.

  • Avg. Monthly Churn % the average percentage of active members who canceled their memberships each month over the selected time period.
  • Avg. Membership Length – how long members typically stay before canceling.

Note: Churn only includes canceled memberships, not frozen. While frozen members don’t appear as active in the member list, they are still treated as “active" when calculating overall growth.

Monthly Growth Breakdown

The section labeled Member Growth shows your data in a month-by-month table. It’s essentially a detailed version of the overview dashboard, breaking down your growth, churn, cancellations, and freezes for each month in the selected year.

This view makes it easy to:

  • Track changes in membership activity over time.

  • Compare growth and churn across different months.

  • See how freezes, cancellations, and new members impact your totals.

Using Report Filters

The growth report includes three filters that let you narrow down your results and focus on the data most relevant to your gym:

1. Acquisition Source - The way new members first came to your school. This helps you track which marketing efforts are bringing in members who actually stay.
  • Website – members who signed up through your online forms.

  • Referral – members referred by an existing student.

  • Walk-in – members who joined in person without prior contact.

  • Social Media – members who signed up after engaging with your social platforms.

Using this filter, you can compare growth and retention between different sources. For example, you may find that referrals bring in fewer members overall, but those members stay much longer than walk-ins — valuable insight when deciding where to focus your marketing.

2. Year - Use the Year filter to switch between different years and identify long-term trends in your membership activity.

3. Program - The Program filter appears above the Monthly Growth Breakdown table. This lets you focus on growth within a single program, making it easy to compare how different offerings are performing against one another.
