How to Use WODs in Gymdesk

The Gymdesk WOD feature allows owners to create a workout plan for any given day using the scheduling panel. In addition, the feature also allows members to track their progress, see results, and compare them with others using a public leaderboard. 

In this article, we’ll walk you through the entire process of creating and scheduling WODs in Gymdesk. Let’s get started! Having said that, let’s look into the steps you need to take to complete setting up WODs in Gymdesk: 

Step 1 - Creating A WOD

Once you’ve accessed your Gymdesk account, go to the “Gym” tab. 

When you’re on the “Gym” dashboard, click the “Programs” option.

Next, navigate to the “WOD” tab and click the “ADD WORKOUT” button. 

Step 2 - Adding WOD Details 

Once you’ve accessed the WOD panel, the next step in the process is to add the details for the WOD. These details include a name and description. After that, you can open the dropdown menu and set the required movements. 

From the dropdown menu, you can choose existing movements or add new ones using the “ADD” button. 

These movements will automatically be added to the “Skills” tab under “Programs”

Once you’ve added the required details, you can decide whether you want to turn on scoring or not. To do that, click the “Scored” check box and fill out the required options. 

If you want, you can also enable the “Show leaderboard” and “Benchmark” options. Enabling the “Show leaderboard” option allows members to compare their results with others. 

The benchmark option, if enabled, will standardize the workout for measuring progress or identifying weaknesses. 

After you’ve configured all the settings, click “SAVE” to add your WOD to the library. 

Step  3 - WOD Management 

After you click “SAVE,” you will be redirected to the “Programs” panel of your “Gym” tab. Here you can see the WOD you just created. 

From here, you can add more workouts, edit, duplicate, or delete the WOD(s) that you have created simply by clicking on the appropriate option. 

Step 4 - Adding A WOD To Your Gym Schedule 

To add a WOD to your gym’s schedule, you click “Schedule” and access the panel. 

Now, hover over a specified date and then click the “+ Add WOD” option.

After that, choose one of the WODs you previously created. You can add multiple WODs and rearrange them as needed. After that, click “DONE” and then “SAVE.”

Now, the WOD will be added to that specific date.

From here, you can click the WOD’s name under the date to make changes to the workout and then click “EDIT” to update the plan, if needed. 

Step 5 - Viewing WODs As A Member

Members can use the app or the dedicated portal to view their scheduled WODs and log their results. If you have the leaderboard option enabled, they can even compare results with others. To do this, a member, once logged in to their account, needs to click their “Schedule” icon.

From here, they can click the WOD added on a date on the schedule. 

Now they can view the WOD plan and log their results or see the leaderboard by click on the appropriate option.
